I’m going to be out of town on Saturday, June 14. Fear not, because Ironman Jere Lee has graciously agreed to sit in for me. Thanks, Jere! (You can catch Jere’s own great show is on Tuesdays between 2 and 6 in the afternoon.)
When I return on June 21, KMHD will be in the middle of the fiscal-year-end fundraiser. That means that the inimitable Calvin Walker (“my pal Cal”) will be joining me for a shorter-than-normal two hour show with the goal of convincing you to part with some of your hard-earned money to support KMHD.
One BIG change this time around, a change that I consider to be a positive one, is that the station has brought back local pledge takers. That’s right, when you call in your pledge of support there will be a volunteer from right here in Portland, Oregon on the other end of the phone, not a paid call-taker halfway across the country!
Please show station manager Doug Sweet that he made the right decision in bringing this vital function back home where it belongs! When you hear the phone numbers given on the air, please call and make your pledge of support for the only full-time jazz and blues station in the Portland metro area!
Thanks for listening, and thanks for your continuing support!
[NOTE: Please DO NOT email any pledge info to me or post it to this web site. ONLY pledge on KMHD’s web site or by calling the phone numbers given over the air on 89.1 FM during the pledge drive.]
