One thing I really liked about the original version of this site over on BlogSpot was the template. It was simple and direct and, most importantly, it allowed for direct access to a great many of my articles there without the need to always scroll endlessly.
WordPress, the new host for Jazz For A Saturday Night, has two or three free templates that are very similar to the BlogSpot template. After giving it some thought for a few days I settled on one called “The Columnist.”
“The Columnist” not only looks great, but the title alone seems appropriate. J It also allows a measure of customization, hence the CD library photo along the right side of the page. It seemed an appropriate affectation.
I hope you enjoy the new look. Please use the Reply feature below and let me know what you think of it.
Now, as to the second part of the above title, I’m afraid there probably will not be a new review here today, for the mundane reason that last night my oven quit working and I need to figure out what’s wrong and if it’s repairable… or even worth repairing.
If it turns out I am able to get things squared away in time to give you 800 to 1,500 words about the album I’ve been listening to all week, I will do so and get it up here. If not, I’ll post a message here and on Twitter, and then this week’s album will become next week’s album.
Thanks for understanding, and thanks for taking the time to read this.

I would like to once again discuss newer releases here, as well as older, classic jazz. If you represent a jazz artist with an album you feel would “fit in” here, whether new release or old, please contact me at email@example.com. I will provide you with an address you can submit a review copy.
Please note that acceptance by me of a copy of your album for consideration is no guarantee that it will be reviewed here.
