Yesterday I got a nice little note from WordPress wishing me a happy first anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s been a year already since I gave up fighting Blogger’s error-prone post editor and moved here. It has mostly been a good year, and I’m happy I made the change. I do have to say though, there are some things about WordPress I still don’t understand, but I have managed to get along.

The two things that leave me most puzzled are the number followers I have and the number of pageviews. At the peak on Blogger, I had only two followers but was getting almost 3,000 pageviews a month. Here on WordPress, as of yesterday, I have 30 followers but have had only 2,740 views in total since I moved the blog here.

The number of followers is heart-warming, but the drop in pageviews can only be described as catastrophic. Since for the most part no one except spammers ever leaves any comments, I am at a loss what to do to reverse the dwindling views. Reverting to posting reviews weekly might help, and I have been giving that some very serious thought lately. But I’m not ready to do that, not yet anyway.

When I first made the trial switch from weekly reviews to every-other week, I set the Saturday before Memorial Day is the deadline to make up my mind whether or not to continue with the every-other week schedule or return to posting weekly.

While the decision will be mine, you can help me make it by giving me some feedback.

Do you find these reviews helpful? Have you bought an album because of what I wrote about it here? Which album was it? After you listened to it, were you glad you bought it, or were you disappointed?

I write these articles for you. Well, for you and for me, but mostly for you.

So help me, please. Tell me what you think.

Thanks for reading this.

I would like to once again discuss newer releases here, as well as older, classic jazz. If you represent a jazz artist with an album you feel would “fit in” here, whether new release or old, please contact me at saturdaynightjazz@yahoo.com. I will provide you with an address you can submit a review copy.

Please note that acceptance by me of a copy of your album for consideration is no guarantee that it will be reviewed here.

Thank you!
